Needle Fencer

Needle Fencer is a platformer set in a sewing theme.

You play as a wire-roll knight who's trying to make his way through dangerous lands, full of agressive balls of yarn. Armed of his pointy needle and his solid thimble, he's ready to face this first challenge.
Jump and fight on the platforms and use your needle efficiently to create yourself safe steps to climb through the level!

Mouse&Keyboard (Xbox controller will be added later).

Basic controls :
- Q & D/  A & D (Left stick with Xbox controller) to move your character to the left or right
- Switch your focus side by moving your mouse to the left or right of the avatar

As a player, you also can :
Fight!
- Slice your enemies (Press Left clic / LB)
- Throw your needle like a javelin (Press middle mouse button / RT to shoot, hold it to aim, re-press to bring it back!)

- Hit them with a thrust of it too (Hold Left clic / LB and release)
- Parry and block the attacks with your thimble (Press Right clic / RB to parry, hold to block longer)

Climb!
- Jump to progress on the blocks and through the platforms (Press Spacebar / A button)
- As your needle can prick itself into the blocks, use it as your own support to progress!
- Get down form the platforms as you wish (double press S / Left stick down)

This little game has been created during the GMTK 2022 Game Jam (48h + 2h) challenge, by a team of 2 devs : Rémi & Alexis.
The theme of the Jam was "Roll the dice".
As french developpers, the word "dice" translated can also refer to "thimble" in our language (Dice = dé, thimble = dé à coudre), and so imagination made the rest.
